The Model Press is an English-language news site about AI models and the compute behind them.
We cover model releases and AI lab news, benchmark results, AI accelerators from every chipmaker, and the data centers, power and compute deals that AI runs on. Every fact is dated and linked to the company, lab or maintainer that published it.
What we cover
- News, filed under one subject each: Models, Labs, Chips, Projects (AI data centers, supercomputers, power and compute deals), Benchmarks, Robotics and Events.
- Explainers: evergreen pages that answer a stable question, such as how a chip generation differs, what a benchmark measures or a lab’s model line-up by date.
- Data tools: trackers built from official sources, such as the live status of AI services, model release timelines and AI data-center projects. They are added to the menu as they go live.
Our readers are developers, technical buyers, investors and informed readers who want to know what changed, when, and what it means. We write dates, version names, numbers and the source that published them, without hype and without predictions presented as facts.
Who writes it
Articles are produced by The Model Press research desk, which uses AI-assisted research and writing under the editorial rules of this site. Bylines are pen names of the desk, one per beat; they are not individual staff members:
- Elena Marsh: models, labs, benchmarks and AI service status.
- Daniel Okafor: AI chips from every vendor, the chip supply chain, GPU rental prices and export controls.
- Sofia Lindqvist: AI data centers, power and compute deals, and robotics.
How we choose sources
Every material fact comes from an official or primary source, linked in the text: a lab’s own announcement, model card, system card, technical report or documentation; a chipmaker’s product page, datasheet, press release or earnings materials; a company’s own data-center announcement or regulatory filing. News reports, social posts, leaks and aggregators are leads only. A fact we cannot confirm at its source is left out. Rumoured models and unreleased chips are covered only once the company itself has announced them.
The full rules are in our Editorial standards. Errors are corrected and listed on the Corrections page.
