These are the rules every piece on The Model Press follows: news, explainers, data tools and sponsored content.
In short: every material fact comes from an official or primary source linked in the text; each news piece dates the event separately from its publication; claims are attributed to whoever made them; errors are fixed with a dated note; and sponsored content is labelled and kept apart from our news, explainers and data tools.
Primary sources only
Every material fact comes from an official or primary source and is linked in the text:
- AI labs: the lab’s own announcement, model card, system card, technical report, documentation, changelog or deprecation notice.
- Chipmakers and the supply chain: the company’s product page, datasheet, press release, earnings release or investor materials.
- Data centers, power and compute deals: the company’s own announcement, a regulatory or securities filing, or a utility’s or government’s own release.
- Benchmarks: the lab’s published scores, or the benchmark maintainer’s own leaderboard, with the benchmark version and the date.
- Events: the organiser’s or the company’s own event page.
News reports, social posts, leaks and aggregators are leads only: they tell us where to look, never what to write. A fact we cannot confirm at its source is left out entirely. Rumoured models and unreleased chips are covered only once the company itself has announced them.
Dates and attribution
Each news piece states when the event happened, separately from when we published it. Numbers keep the unit and the scope the company gave them (for example announced capacity in megawatts, or a benchmark score with its setting). Claims are attributed to whoever made them: “the company says” is not the same as a measured fact. We do not present predictions as facts, and we do not claim insider access.
Methodology of the data tools
- AI service status pages read each provider’s official status feed in the reader’s browser and show what the provider reports. We add no crowd reports and no guesses; when a feed cannot be read, the page says so and links the provider’s official status page.
- Trackers (model releases, AI data-center projects, AI chips, GPU rental prices, company profiles, benchmark scores) list only what the company, the cloud provider or the benchmark maintainer has published, each entry with its source link and the date we checked it.
- Figures older than 90 days without a fresh check carry a note that they may be outdated until they are checked again.
No investment advice
We report company facts such as revenue, segment results and guidance from the company’s own release. We do not give investment advice, price targets or buy and sell views, and we do not rank products as the “best”.
Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it in the article and add a dated note at the end saying what changed. Significant corrections are also listed on the Corrections page. To report an error, use the contact form and include the link and the source that shows the correct fact.
Sponsored content
Sponsored content is paid for by the company it is about or by its agency. It is:
- labelled Sponsored above the headline;
- marked so that every outbound link carries
rel="sponsored"; - fact-checked like editorial copy, with the company’s claims attributed to the company;
- kept separate from our news selection, explainers and data tools, which are never for sale and never changed by a sponsor.
Sponsored items are at most one in ten of the pieces we publish. We do not publish paid content about gambling or betting, lending or “earning” apps, unlicensed financial services, investment schemes or guaranteed returns, adult content or pharmaceuticals, or anything that helps fake documents. Details for sponsors are on the Advertise page.
Who writes
The bylines are pen names of The Model Press research desk, which uses AI-assisted research and writing under these rules. They are not individual staff members; see About. We never invent quotes, interviews, personal experiences or credentials.
Images
Images are official press images used with credit where the company permits reuse, or illustrations drawn for the site. Illustrations never imitate a product photo, a chip design, a company logo or a benchmark chart.
