This page describes exactly what runs on The Model Press and what it records.

In short: the site counts visits with its own first-party analytics, which set no cookie and store no IP address; pages load fonts from Google Fonts; AI status pages read providers’ status feeds from your browser; and forms store what you send so we can answer it. We use no advertising trackers and no Google Analytics.

Reading the site

First-party analytics, without cookies. The site counts visits with its own analytics, run by the publishing system that serves it; no outside analytics company receives your visit. It sets no cookie and stores no IP address. For each request the server records the page path, the response status, the type of device (such as mobile or desktop), the website that linked to the page (its host name only), campaign tags in the address (utm_ parameters) and search terms typed into the site’s own search. A small script on each page reports when a page is shown and left, clicks on links to other websites, and page loading measurements. To count distinct visitors within a day, the server derives an anonymous code from your IP address and browser name together with the date; the code changes every day, cannot be traced back to you and cannot link your visits across days. Analytics records are deleted after a limited retention period.

Your browser’s own memory. The home page keeps the time of your last visit in your browser’s local storage, so it can mark stories published since then as “New”. It never leaves your browser, and clearing your browser’s site data removes it.

Fonts. The pages load their typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). Your browser therefore connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address and browser details as part of that request.

AI status pages. The pages under AI status read each provider’s official status feed directly from your browser, so while one of them is open your browser connects to those providers’ status servers (OpenAI, Anthropic, GitHub, Perplexity and Google Cloud), which receive your IP address and browser details as part of that request. Nothing about the request passes through or is stored by The Model Press.

No advertising trackers. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising cookies or social media tracking pixels. If we add Google Analytics, this page will be updated to say so and describe it.

Links to other websites. Links that leave the site may carry a tag naming The Model Press as the referring site. What those websites record is governed by their own policies.

Sending a form

When you use the contact form or the Advertise form, we store what you type in the form together with the time, your IP address and your browser’s name, which help us detect spam and abuse. To limit repeated spam across sites, the system also stores an anonymous code derived from the sender’s details. We use your submission only to read and answer it, and we do not sell or share it for marketing.

Your requests

To ask about a form submission you sent, or to have it deleted, use the contact form and tell us the email address you used.
