- Announced
On October 16, 2026, EverWind announced an investment of over $10 billion in a data centre campus at its existing industrial site at Point Tupper, Nova Scotia, and an onshore wind portfolio across the province: more than $8 billion for the campus and $2 billion for wind. The campus is planned to begin with a 95 MW phase in late 2027, leased long-term to what EverWind called “a leading frontier AI developer”, which it did not name. A 325 MW expansion is targeted for 2028, for 420 MW at full development; both phases are subject to commercial, technical and regulatory conditions, and EverWind said the expansion will not be connected to the grid until the required system studies and approvals are complete.
EverWind said the campus will draw on its Bear Lake, Windy Ridge, Kmtnuk and Upper Afton wind projects plus battery storage, and use closed-loop cooling. A Membertou Development Corporation-led First Nations consortium is negotiating an ownership stake. EverWind expects about 2,000 construction jobs and 215 permanent operating positions.
