On September 21, 2026, Microsoft said its India South Central datacenter region in Hyderabad is live and designated a strategic hub for Asia and the Global South. The region has a three-zone architecture and is designed to support the full portfolio of Azure and AI services, including Microsoft Foundry, with more capabilities rolling out in the following months.
Microsoft placed it within its $20.5 billion commitment to India and named Adani Group, Bajaj Finserv, HDFC Bank and PB Pay as early customers.
