On July 31, 2026, DeepSeek released the official DeepSeek-V4-Flash API in public beta (DeepSeek-V4-Flash-0731), a re-post-trained version of DeepSeek-V4-Flash-Preview with the same architecture and size. DeepSeek said it natively supports the Responses API format and is adapted for Codex; the update covered only the V4-Flash API.

DeepSeek retired V4 Flash on September 10, 2026, and the name deepseek-v4-flash is temporarily routed to DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash.
