OpenAI listed tts-1 in its October 1, 2026 deprecation notice for text-to-speech models. Calls to tts-1 keep working until January 6, 2027, 97 days after the notice; from that date the API no longer serves it. For new speech output OpenAI points developers to gpt-realtime-2.1-mini.
The October notice also covers tts-1-hd and two gpt-4o-mini-tts snapshots, all removed on the same January date.
