Nuclear power deals for data centers fall into four kinds: long-term contracts for output from operating nuclear plants, restarts of closed plants, uprates that add capacity to existing reactors, and agreements to fund new small or advanced reactors. Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, Google and Crusoe have each signed at least one, from Constellation’s restart of Three Mile Island Unit 1 for Microsoft to Amazon’s 20-year, 690 MW agreement for Calvert Cliffs announced on September 30, 2026. The deals below are listed as the companies themselves announced them, as of October 2026.

Contracts with operating plants
Meta and Constellation, Clinton (June 3, 2025). Meta signed a 20-year agreement for 1,121 MW from Constellation’s Clinton Clean Energy Center in Illinois, including a 30 MW uprate, starting in June 2027.
Amazon and Talen Energy, Susquehanna (June 11, 2025). Talen agreed to supply Amazon with 1,920 MW from the Susquehanna nuclear plant in Pennsylvania through 2042, with options to extend. Talen said delivery will ramp over time and reach full volume no later than 2032. The two companies also said they will explore new small modular reactors (SMRs) within Talen’s Pennsylvania footprint and pursue uprates at the plant.
Meta and Vistra (January 9, 2026). Meta agreed to buy more than 2.1 GW over 20-year agreements from Vistra’s Perry and Davis-Besse plants in Ohio and Beaver Valley in Pennsylvania, plus 433 MW of uprates across the three plants expected in the early 2030s.
Amazon and Constellation, Calvert Cliffs (September 30, 2026). Constellation and Amazon signed a 20-year power purchase agreement for 690 MW from Calvert Cliffs in Lusby, Maryland, including about 190 MW of new capacity from uprates coming online between 2030 and 2032. Constellation said the deal enables more than $3 billion of infrastructure investment in Maryland. Our news report covers the terms in detail.
Restarts of closed plants
Microsoft and Constellation, Crane Clean Energy Center (September 20, 2024). Constellation announced a 20-year power purchase agreement with Microsoft that will return Three Mile Island Unit 1 in Pennsylvania to service as the Crane Clean Energy Center, restoring about 835 MW. The 2024 announcement gave 2028 as the restart year; Constellation’s site page now says the plant is “expected to go online in 2027.”
Google and NextEra Energy, Duane Arnold (October 27, 2025). NextEra announced a 25-year agreement under which Google will buy power from a restarted Duane Arnold Energy Center in Iowa, a 615 MW plant, with the restart targeted for the first quarter of 2029. On September 8, 2026, NextEra said the Department of Energy had closed a loan of up to $1.9 billion for the restart, with the plant to be online “no later than the first quarter of 2029, pending regulatory approvals.”
New and advanced reactors
Google and Kairos Power (October 14, 2024). Google agreed to buy power from Kairos Power’s SMRs, totaling up to 500 MW of “new 24/7 carbon-free power,” with the first reactor online by 2030 and additional deployments through 2035. Kairos uses a molten-salt cooling system with ceramic pebble-type fuel.
Amazon and X-energy (October 16, 2024). Amazon invested in X-energy to support “more than five gigawatts of new nuclear energy projects” using X-energy’s technology. The first project, with Energy Northwest in Washington state, is planned at 320 MW initially, expandable to 960 MW, with power expected from the early 2030s.
Meta, TerraPower and Oklo (January 9, 2026). Alongside the Vistra contracts, Meta announced funding for two TerraPower Natrium units “capable of generating up to 690 MW” with delivery as early as 2032, plus rights to energy from up to six more units, about 2.1 GW, targeted by 2035. With Oklo, Meta is backing an advanced nuclear campus in Pike County, Ohio that “may come online as early as 2030” and could add up to 1.2 GW. Meta put the total across its January 2026 agreements at up to 6.6 GW by 2035 and said the projects will supply the grids that serve its Prometheus supercluster in New Albany, Ohio.
Crusoe and Aalo Atomics (July 30, 2026). Crusoe and Aalo plan to place a Crusoe Spark modular data center beside Aalo’s 10 MWe Aalo-X reactor at Idaho National Laboratory in 2027, then deploy Aalo Pods and 50 MWe Aalo XMR plants at Crusoe data centers by the end of 2029. It is the smallest deal on this list by megawatts.

What the megawatt figures mean
Most of these numbers are generation contracted under a power purchase agreement, not power wired directly into a data hall. Constellation said a retail supply agreement tied to Calvert Cliffs supports Amazon operations in the 13-state PJM market, and Meta described its January 2026 deals as delivering power “to the grids that support our operations.” The Crusoe and Aalo plan is built the other way: the modular data center is planned beside the reactor at Idaho National Laboratory.
The new-reactor figures are also different in kind from the contracts with operating plants. Kairos, X-energy, TerraPower and Oklo capacity depends on new reactors, and the companies give dates as targets (“by 2030,” “as early as 2032”). Contracts with Clinton, Susquehanna, Vistra’s plants and Calvert Cliffs cover reactors already generating power, with uprates as the only new capacity.
Comparing these deals with data-center capacity requires care: a 690 MW PPA is nuclear output, while a campus announced at 1 GW may refer to IT load or grid connection. The /ai-data-centers tracker lists power deals and campuses separately, each with its owner’s own wording, and company profiles are in /ai-companies.
