CoreWeave announced its entry into India on October 6, 2026, with plans for 240 megawatts of AI data center capacity at AdaniConneX’s Taloja campus in Navi Mumbai. According to CoreWeave’s announcement, the campus will run Nvidia’s Vera Rubin platform, the first phase is expected to be available in mid-2028, and CoreWeave will be the only tenant.

It is CoreWeave’s first site in India and, at 240 MW, a large first step into a new country for the GPU cloud provider. The capacity is a plan with a 2028 start date, not a running cluster.

The project as CoreWeave states it

Item As announced
Campus owner AdaniConneX, a 50:50 joint venture of Adani Enterprises and EdgeConneX
Tenant CoreWeave, sole tenant of all three buildings
Location AdaniConneX Taloja campus, Navi Mumbai, India
Announced capacity 240 MW in three 80 MW buildings
Expansion option Up to a further 240 MW at the campus, which would double it
Chips Nvidia Vera Rubin platform
Cooling Direct liquid cooling for GPU halls; non-evaporative chilled water system
Timeline First phase expected mid-2028, then more capacity in phases

CoreWeave also says it will open an office in India and hire locally, and it links the investment to India’s national AI plans, including the IndiaAI Mission.

What the numbers mean

Only the first phase carries a date, mid-2028; CoreWeave says the rest of the capacity will come online in phases after that, so the full 240 MW does not arrive on a single opening day. The option to add up to another 240 MW at the same campus would take the site to as much as 480 MW if CoreWeave exercises it.

The choice of Vera Rubin fits the timing. CoreWeave began running Vera Rubin NVL72 in production with Cognition on September 30, 2026, and that is the platform it plans to bring to India. Nvidia’s published figures for the rack-scale system are on our Vera Rubin NVL72 page.

The cooling design is stated as well: direct liquid cooling in the GPU halls and a non-evaporative chilled water system, which rejects heat without evaporating water the way open cooling towers do.

Where India fits in CoreWeave’s footprint

CoreWeave describes the move as part of its expansion across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, following its recent entry into Indonesia. It says that as of its August 11, 2026 earnings call it had about 4.2 gigawatts of contracted power. Against that total, the first Indian campus is a modest share, but it gives the company a site in a country where it previously had none.

CoreWeave’s company profile is on AI companies, and announced AI data center projects are tracked in AI data centers. Other project announcements are in AI data center news.
