  • September 1, 2026 — Claude Fable 5.1 and Claude Mythos 5.1. Anthropic released both, saying they “are the same model, but with different levels of safeguards.” Fable 5.1 is generally available; Mythos 5.1 is limited to vetted organizations.
  • September 2, 2026 — Gemini 3.8 Flash and 3.8 Flash Cyber. Google released the pair: Flash across its developer tools and consumer products, Flash Cyber only for trusted defenders through its Fairwind Program.
  • September 2, 2026 — Meta Muse Spark 1.3. Meta announced Muse Spark 1.3, available on Muse Code and the Meta Model API.
  • September 3, 2026 — OpenAI GPT-6 Astra. OpenAI released GPT-6 Astra and says it “meets the Critical threshold in cybersecurity under our Preparedness Framework.” The same day, ARC Prize reported 62.7% on the ARC-AGI-3 Semi-Private set for Astra (max) with its Standard harness.
  • September 10, 2026 — DeepSeek-V4.1-Flash. DeepSeek’s change log calls it “the smallest model in our new architecture family, with native multimodal visual understanding”; it replaces V4 Flash and V4 Flash Vision Exp.
  • September 21, 2026 — xAI Grok 4.7. xAI released Grok 4.7 with a 500,000-token context window and reported 71.0% on DeepSWE v1.1 at high effort in its own testing.
  • September 22, 2026 — Claude Opus 5.5. Anthropic released Opus 5.5 with a 1-million-token context window (our report). Artificial Analysis scored it 58 on its Intelligence Index at max effort.
  • September 22, 2026 — GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna. OpenAI added two GPT-6 models in ChatGPT Work, Codex and the API (our report).
  • September 28, 2026 — Claude Sonnet 5.5. Anthropic released Sonnet 5.5, the first Sonnet model to launch with cyber safeguards (our report).
  • September 29, 2026 — GPT-6.1 Sol. OpenAI upgraded Sol a week after its release.
  • September 30, 2026 — Gemini 4 Argon. Google released Gemini 4 Argon first to trusted cyber defenders, with a 1-million-token output limit (our report). The same day, Anthropic’s release notes deprecated Claude Sonnet 4.5, with retirement on November 30, 2026.

  • September 2, 2026 — Broadcom. Broadcom reported AI semiconductor revenue of $16.7 billion for its third fiscal quarter, up 221% year over year.
  • September 17, 2026 — Huawei Ascend roadmap. At Huawei Connect 2026 in Shanghai, Huawei unveiled the Atlas 960E SuperPoD and dated the Ascend 960DT for the first quarter of 2027 and the 960PR for the third quarter of 2027, followed by the Ascend 970 and 980.

  • September 3, 2026 — Figure and Nscale. Figure signed with Nscale for up to 100,000 NVIDIA Vera Rubin GPUs in Barstow, Texas, with initial deployment from the second half of 2027.
  • September 9, 2026 — NVIDIA in Australia. NVIDIA said Australian partners are preparing land, power and shell capacity for its DSX AI factories, “with up to a 2-gigawatt buildout by 2027.”
  • September 10, 2026 — Oracle. Oracle’s fiscal Q1 2027 release reports 850 MW of additional datacenter capacity and more than 300,000 GPUs delivered in the quarter.
  • September 17, 2026 — CoreWeave. CoreWeave said its contracted power reached about 4.2 GW as of August 11, up from about 3.7 GW at June 30.
  • September 21, 2026 — Microsoft, Hyderabad. Microsoft opened its India South Central cloud region with three availability zones.
  • September 30, 2026 — Constellation and Amazon. The companies signed a 20-year agreement for 690 MW from the Calvert Cliffs nuclear plant in Maryland, including a 190 MW uprate expected between 2030 and 2032 (our report).
  • September 30, 2026 — AIB Data Centers and Nebius. AIB contracted 50 MW of critical IT capacity in the southeastern US to Nebius for an initial 12-year term.
