Live GitHub Copilot status from GitHub's official status page, to check whether Copilot is down right now.

This page reads GitHub's official status feed in your browser and shows what GitHub reports for GitHub Copilot in editors, on github.com and in the command line: the current state, open incidents and recent incidents, each linked to the provider's own notice. It refreshes every minute while the page is open.

What this page covers

This page covers GitHub Copilot, as listed on GitHub's status page. Microsoft's Copilot assistant is a different service with its own status reporting.

How to read the status

  • Operational: GitHub reports no problem with Copilot.
  • Degraded or partial problems: some requests fail or are slow, or one part of the service is affected.
  • Major outage: GitHub reports the service, or a main part of it, as unavailable.
  • Under maintenance: planned work announced by GitHub.

If Copilot is not working for you but the status is operational

  • Restart your editor or the Copilot extension, and check that you are signed in to GitHub with a Copilot plan.
  • Try from another network to rule out a proxy or firewall problem.
  • Check the GitHub status page again a little later: new incidents appear there first.
